In the big wood, it was funny. Scotts 661 and hybrid 064 were dead even. Julian musta told me a hundred times........ "I hate that saw"

The first time I heard him, I asked him which saw he was talking about and why ....... his reply ...."no matter how many times I've tried, or what wood I was cutting, I can't beat that friggin hybrid"

In the dollar races and cants, the Oh64 was clearly ahead

It looked to be rock hard cherry is my guess

The big wood was oak
Red oak if I'm not mistaken

I'm pretty sure Dan said the dollar races were ran in cherry

The cants were white pine and hemlock

I just wanted to mention being careful with that plunge cut, up cut is for the potential for something to happen. It does look a little dangerous. Chaps is a must for sure.
But I will try it myself before going on video. Lol

Do you need anything special for that plunge cut? Roller tip? One chain better than the other? Square file, round file?

Your right, there is always the potential for someone to get hurt using saws, whether working or racing. Care must be taken.

This was new to all of us, except Scott I think, and I didn't see a single cut get dangerous on anyone. No kicks boring in, not one.

We used many of the saws there. Some had work chains, some had race chains. Nothing special Jeff.
