So i didnt like how my saw were all on a shelf and bars sticking out and always bumping them so here is my new stollen idea i took from the internet. I think this is about the neatest was to store some of them. But this also makes me wonder if 2 deck screws is enough to support a saw on the bracket I made?
Got lots more hangin to do lol.

Just gonna hang my more daily user saws on this and not the big old heavy ones.
Post up some of your saw storing ideas to maybe help out other to gain room that dont have much space.

I bet that your 2 deck screws will be just fine up to 50 pounds or so unless you get to horsing on them. I am also hunting a way to store saws efficiently. Wall space is at a premium in my garage/shop. Ceiling space is getting slim. I might be able to hang a few, but I don’t want to be brushing against sharp chains when I am digging for something else. I just need to keep saving up for a proper shop. Thanks for posting your work!

I like the rack, but I don't think that the hook has to be so elaborate.

My chainsaws usually live in cases, but I hang a lot of other tools in my garage from standard clothesline, bicycle, or similar hooks, just using a loop of heavy cord. This is tied through the handle of a couple of tools, but looped around, or through the handles of others. The soft cord holds items securely, but does not scratch or scrape the handles either.

Looks like you could use the space behind, or on the back of that rack, to also hang bars, chains, etc.

Also, if you use a hook, you might be able to hang the saws sideways, so that the bar and chain are 'protected' between the studs, and stay closer to the wall.

I would trust the plastic just fine. The saw handles are plastic. I like your steel ones. Guys like us don’t have 3D printers, but we have welders and grinders and scrap steel piles. Using what you have in terms of time, money, tools, and materials is what it is all about.

Ive taken a course or two on additive manufacturing and have gotten to use 3d printers ALOT. Those hooks would probably be good up to 100lb depending on what sort of filament/heat he used. That being said. If a man could get a set of plans on those they would sell like hotcakes on fleabay

I’ve seen this handles just last week for hangings saws. I’ve got a small trunk in my garage up against the wall and bore cut through it in spots to slip saws in. Trouble is not all my saws fit in it and would like to redo things. Your same idea is what I was planning on doing and was going to either buy some large hooks or build them out of steel. This way if the power head doesn’t have a bar on it I can still hang it up out of the way and free up room on the floor for my milling frames and other items.

Just borrowing Merc_mans web pic for illustrative purposes.
The hooks look like a nice idea.
I might put a slight angle in them or just mount them tilted a hair sloped so that any vibrations, door slaming or being jostled tended to walk the handle towards the mounting side and not off the open end of the hook.
I'm wondering if the plastic ones might tend to creep (sag) over time.

Second thing that comes to mind
I think I'd run the mounting screws a little more in the center region of the board.
Just thinking if the board were to split out (lots of knots in the lumber nowdays) would be a bit of an aggravating thing to come home to one day.

Heres what I copied. This person 3d printed some plastic hooks but i wouldnt trust the plastic but who knows. They would probly be fine.

I've been doing something similar to the OP, but using these:

Not sure why it looks like that... but hit the image and it'll take you to the product page.

And no, no issues with leaking bar oil or fuel at this time.

Nope.

It takes me to a general Amazon page and things that I have searched for in the past. Have to post the written description, or a screenshot, and let people search for it themselves.

Frustrating, but that’s how it works now.
