These are new .058". I don't even have a bar to try them on.That's how my chains start out their life too..
After a half dozen cords of wood, and maybe five or six sharpenings, they can work back to their sweet spot.

Indeed...Might be running against the guy I sent chains to. He lives in birch tree.

People throw out and waste a lot of usable chain; I have rescued quite a few loops. A grinder is a good way to bring it back to shape. If you really prefer a filed edge, give it a few licks after shaping it with the grinder.Here is a chain that I took from the garbage pile . . . for an every day kinda work chain for the woods you really don't have to do anything real fancy to get a good fast cut.

I have some 10" dia cottonwood logs in the backyard that were cut in June. Think it's safe to cut wif dat chain with no ill effects?
