Even if you can press the crank apart you would need some kind of jig to keep it correctly aligned when pressing back together. It wouldn’t take much to really throw it out of wack.

More room under the piston, no need to cut the base. Just cut squish lightly and you're there.

Which probably isn't a bad thing. The 272 pistons in a 46 jug seem to work pretty well.

I've never been over 30ton.

Have set up some interesting scatter shields though...

Heat helps the stubborn ones
30 is probably plenty. I've heard of guys needing 50 to get s fee if they didn't hear them up.

Used oem is more difficult than aftermarket from my experience.

Heat does help, I've pressed a bunch of junk cranks apart for practice. One thing I did notice is there's some sort of powered metal residue around the crank pin where it goes in the other half, possibly a flash weld material?
