Those ports look smaller than the oem 50mm OE 372 I was just in. But those look pretty clean for AM. The farmertec looks close to oem port size but rougher.

@Spike60 seemed to be of the opinion that these had the smaller 365 style transfers as well. I'm not super well versed in all of the little differences on them but he opined that these kits likely have some more lugging power than the larger 372 style ports.

And yes, they really are pretty clean kits with nice workmanship overall.

Bob, would you care to chime in a little bit since you also have the kit in hand?

Thanks!

My two cents with messing with this stuff for some time now, the biggest problem is consistency that I can see. One time you can get a really wonderful cylinder kit that runs great and you think wow, I want another, and... right in the dumper. The 372 big bore kits were much this way for just one example, I could go on.
The pistons are well made enough to hold up over time, the rings, not as much as well as the pin bearing. The machining of the piston does help it hold more oil than others.
It really comes down to how much risk are you willing to take and have the time to do it all over again if it doesn't work out the way it should.
They really are good for getting a firewood saw back in service quickly and cheap enough to keep on hand. It's a bit much to ask to make a Hi Performance saw out of them but that doesn't mean they don't have worth. If the costs stay down, people will be buying them to revive a dead saw.

Hey Steve!

I agree with you 100% It's definitely a cost-to-benefit that the customer has to weigh out. I think a fair comparison is the aftermarket auto part industry. If you want brakes that work and will stop your vehicle no problems then there are a million options. If you want top of the line race quality brakes you can get them too, but you'll pay for them.

I think that for my business we like to find the best we can for a price point, represent them accurately and be someone who will offer some accountability if there's an issue on the customers end.

Nonetheless, I'm not really here to hustle some cylinders, just to share some information and side-by-side comparisons so guys can have a deeper look into some of the things that are out there. If anyone ever wants any detailed pics of something I would be glad to help out!

There are some gems in the whole of it, just a matter of to keep playing the game to be in to win and the willingness to try again when you don't to find them. :)

Well Rooster, I'm shot to pieces....

@Stump Shot

How'd you feel about the modern version with Jeff Bridges, etc?

Hooray for the man from Texas.

Bridges was good, would rather have seen some other adventure of that character than a rehash of the old Wayne flick.

I think it was a good remake. The girl who played Maddie was spot on, for sure. Gotta love some of the exchanges her and Rooster had.

Crazy don't think I would want a 550 562 clone or a nonclone for that matter.
Not my type of huskys to begin with.
Suprising amount of chinese partner parts
I found looking on alibaba today.
Must've been popular over there.
