Anybody up for some disassembled 268 copies? As in it comes in a box, pieces of it in there. You put it together. Or have someone else put it together.

If Huztl won't bring us these, I think I will bring them here. Need enough interest... should I make a group buy thread?

First order would be a 10 foot container, if that is a thing. Otherwise half a 20 foot. Or if we have enough business drummed up, maybe we will be getting a 40 foot container... that is a lot of saws.

I think since the 268 has a 50mm bore, a 372XP 50mm Dominant piston would work well... might be better than a 52mm bore (272) with cast 52mm piston.

Still plan on a 2/3 to 1/3 ratio, of saws with full wraps and half wraps, unless buyers are lined up and specify what they want.

Czed... I got 2 tanks here, huztl, neither seem to have effective vents. How did you do yours again? with the echo vent...yes...but did you put a seperate hole in the tank? in addition?

It looks like mine has a proprietary vent insert with a gold ineffectual filter....rather than the white pucks

For sure a mickey mouse setup....

I drilled a hole.in the gold piece....used a drywall screw to pull the assembly out....cut off about 1/4" of the black part which also got rid of the gold...then put the black insert back in....made sure it was patent. Then used some 1184 to hold in a white oem puck. Let's see if that works lol. If not. I'll just drill out the tank to an appropriate dimension and then stuff another line in the hole and use an echo vent. 1504398171391-1937213212.jpg 1504398221292-2105388449.jpg

That sintered bronze filter never worked well on my saw either. It was the first thing I modded. I drilled a hole in it, pulled it out with a screw, then removed the duckbill vent behind it. Put it back together with a bunch of steel wool stuffed inside and then used some JB Weld and a few layers of stainless screen over the drilled bronze filter.

It works great. It is a fully vented tank so no problems with pressure build up. I loose about half a teaspoon of fuel out the vent when I refuel. That works to my advantage as it washes the vent clean every time I refuel.

it doesn't freakin work at all. I put the mitivac on it ... then put some carb cleaner in it.... hardly any bubbles for pressure, and zero suck for vac.

the oem one I happened to have reacted perfectly immediately.

I like the idea of the echo vents, just gotta figure a good way to work em....

I like the steel wool idea, very interesting. I think it'll stick with the echo vent though, if what I just did doesn't work.

Worked up a big maple storm blowdown.
I just carry one saw when i cut so my 372 does everything felling limbing and blocking.
I ran 4 tank's through it today still haven't had to retune polemans carb since i installed it and tuned it in wood.
It holds it's tune perfectly and i'm still running that first upstart chain 80% life left in it.20170910_123116.jpg 20170910_123159.jpg 20170910_143442.jpg 20170910_144957.jpg

Thought of you today czed. With all this talk of the hurricane coming through my area in Alabama tomorrow through Wednesday I went ahead and loaded up my cs-590 and everything needed with it Incase we have some downed trees (hospice nurse and poor service areas don’t really let me have the luxury of just waiting for whoever to come clear it or just not working these next few days)

My oldest brother is at hernando beach his wife is sick so they couldn't evacuate.
Many couldn't he was forced out so he is in a third floor holiday inn room.
Hopefully everything goes alright for everyone in Florida.
Last report it was downgraded to cat 2.

Hope everything goes well for them. Saw in the paper the other day that our local hospital had taken several pts from Florida this week in hopes to empty the hospitals out. They are saying we will probably get sustained winds of 30-40 mph and then gusts up to 60 even in northeast Alabama. As wet as it has been this summer for us I’m expecting to see some trees. I already see several down after each storm which are usually 30-40 mpg gusts not sustained.

I've done alot of storm cleanup over the year's.
Take extra everything hardhats gloves flashlights fuel wedges files bars and chains and chainsaws.
I've pulled as much as I've cut most guy's can not run a saw safely.
Especially under stress they are a menace.
I like those headlight style light's for night cutting.
It's easy to find the ground night cutting on uneven ground.
First and foremost powerlines down
Are the biggest risk they can be out of sight and still kill.
Be careful not trying to preach lol
But it's not you're everyday cutting twisted and bound tree's have ungodly tension that's hard to predict.

Thanks for the reminder! Definitely going to try and keep a clear head as much as I can if I have to clean anything up. Gonna be kinda funny looking wearing my boots with my scrubs for a few days but i doubt anyone will care lol.
