You mentioned you don't like loud mufflers. Here's a trick you can use on those mufflers with the bolt tubes through them - turn them into outlets.

DO NOT stick a grinder through the exhaust port hole and grind a hole in the side of the tubes. That will allow the exhaust to blow straight out the bolt tube. The best way takes a bit more work, but allows a quiet muffler - you drill in from the side of the muffler with a drill bit the size of your Dremel bit. Then drill a hole in the side of the tube AWAY from the exhaust port. Then open up the hole in the tube. The easiest way is to shine a light from the opposite end of the tube while you work the Dremel bit. You can watch the bit as you open up an elongated slot in the tube. Then put a weld or braze over the drill hole on the side of the muffler.

You could do one muffler with that mod and compare it to one of your dual ports and check both the sound and power output to see if the mod was worth doing to the other saws.

$3.80 for a muffler... I'd probably pay more than that for a freaking muffler BOLT.

Gawd, the price of saws and parts in Oz is so over the top. I mentioned how I was looking at getting a Makita 6100, except they want A$1,200 for one, plus a goods and service tax of 10% on top of that. - A Husky 562 is A$1,700 plus tax...

Compute using the Husky 562 (plus 10% GST) and the price A$1,876 - or US$1,398. That will buy a lot of Chinese saws...

I was interested in the Dolmar 6100 as I think it has a lot of potential with the reed valve in the strato system. However, I'm unwilling to pay that much just to play with an engine. I've already got enough saws to cut wood.

Beat up used 372s for 350-450 us is the reason i bought these china saws i bought two new for the price of one even with the mods I'm still under 300.00 on each saw.
With a little work these are very good running saws i know some pro builder's are going to build some of the kit 372s curious to see what gains they get i'm keeping mine I've got another big bore on order.

Thanks for the advice.
I finally got some time to work on my 50mm i took a egg shaped carbide burr and cut a 1/2 inch hole in each tube facing the center of the muffer the hole's are midway through the tube offset from the top exhaust tube's
It's a very good increase in torque and overall power it's very impressive at least to me and my friends lol
Next i will do the same to the big bore 372 thanks terry I've thought about that mod but never tried it
A little louder but very tolerable.

Anybody got a china saw or one in progress.
I could've sold all of mine even to my stihl head friends that have tried them out they keep trying to buy them lol
If they follow through and order their own i will post pics to see if there is any difference between mine and theirs they want me to mod them.

Are you seeing any tension issues with the hyway rings.

I've only used a few hyway rings and one maybe two stihl cylinder kits never had a issue they usually had 150 comp and they haven't been brought back by customer's
I've bought a lot of the huztl rings no problem either.
