Nice work! Subbed, as to I've been collecting parts for my own hybrid build. I'm anticipating using a Meteor 460 jug unless I find a better candidate. Are the 460s easier for fitment? This is my first build and I'm in no rush to get it done. Still collecting parts. Most are NOS OEM.

2nd quick question, seems to me a lot of builds use the blue headed decomp valve. Is there a reason for this? Do they leak less?
I noticed your AV mount up top behind the jug is also blue. Never seen the blue rubber before.

Following along this sweet build ........
The 1128 52mm jugs are probably the most inconsistent cylinders Stihl ever had produced for them or produced themselves. Right up there with the 54mm 1122 jugs. There is NOTHING consistent about them. There’s a hemi chamber and a D chamber, all have different squishes, all have different timing. Some are wider than others. Etc...

The blue decomp valve is a Husky 395 valve. They vent more pressure than the Stihl decomp valves and make it easier to pull a saw over. They usually also stay open until the saw pops, unlike the black ones that usually close mid pull.

The blue AV is early oem. Seen a few of them. Usually look black till they go in the USC.

She's a sweet saw! Glad all's holding together.

Doc, approx how many tanks for a break in on a ported saw? Same as a factory build?

All different. With caber F's, around 20. The others I'd say 10-ish.

A bit counterintuitive. Smaller saws have smaller tanks, so they take more tanks per rpm's the engine has gone through.

I generally set the saw so it just cleans up in wood with a good load and then let the saw tell me when its time to lean it out. As it breaks in, it will start to blubber at the same setting.
