Importing a working chainsaw into the U.S.A. if classified by eBay as machinery:
When importing machinery into the U.S., you’ll need to comply with government regulations. Most machinery will be subject to EPA regulations, which means you’ll need to complete EPA form 3520-21. You’ll also need a customs bond. A licensed customs broker can assist with required documents and clearing your goods.

Whitehorse is the capital of the Yukon, with a population of 45,000.It has all the courier services. Haines Junction is a 100 miles north and has no courier services and a population of 700. There is a new company that started up and does pickups from Whitehorse for $52.50 per pickup. Which is about 1/2 the price of the frieght company that does twice a week deliveries

I just checked using
181 Alaska Highway
Haines Junction YT
YOB 1LO Canada

That is an address for motel there. It came up with the same exact price. If I were to ship a box UPS to that address are you saying it would actually go to Whitehorse and sit? That sounds about like something I can see happening. Everytime I send a saw to Europe I tell the person that I will let them know the day it will arrive but there has to be an adult at that location. . Many still do not listen and I have come close to losing saws.

Years ago when I was getting a lot of saws from a guy in BC I would have to go to the USPS post office to pick them up as they refused to deliver them.

Yup if something is shipped by UPS or FedEx you go to Whitehorse to pick it up.
Unless you want to pay the local company to bring it out.
The saw I just got was $448.47 UPS price. Landed in my post office by USPS $128.50 no extra fees And the same condition as it left the States.

I don't mind shipping USPS but the receiver has to understand that the shipping cost will be higher, delivery time will be slower, and USPS is not good at global shipping. I sent a 084 muffler to a guy in Australia years ago. I guess USPS is geographically handicapped. They have 5 ISC's ....International Shipping Centers. They are currently New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. At the time I sent the muffler there was one in New Jersey which I believe is now replaced by New York. Now anyone with half a brain knows a package going from the USA to Australia has to go from the west coast. I live in Illinois so the box should have went to the San Francisco ISC. Well no ole USPS sent it to "Jersey". I was pissed. I was on the phone with them and they had no explanation. They then sent it to France. I went through the roof. I was calling every few days. It sat in France for a long time and I just got told to file a claim. Well that solves nothing! The man wants the parts! It is the principle of the thing. I told them it was their responsibility to retrieve it from France and deliver it where it was supposed to go. Yeah they were not too keen on that.
