I prefer American made, but two things to consider:
1) I have previously stated that I purchase the Chinese kits to learn saw porting w/o ruining OEM stuff. It was the only affordable way I could do it.
2) Not everything is made in China, but I don't know of any American made saw parts! Even OEM stuff is often made in China!
