And, although my saw did not meet my optimistic expectations, if it were paired with any stock 660, 661 or 395 (instead of being compared to DEETs incredible saw) it would have looked quite good.
The total cost of parts for this saw, including the OEM piston pin bearing and recoil rope were under $300.
Bottom line, it does not have to be the best, nor did I ever claim it would be. It cuts wood very well and will continue to cut wood very well. It is especially useful when you want to noodle large hardwood rounds.
I like the saw, I'm keeping the saw, and I'm not embarrassed by the results, the RPM range of it's strength was just lower than I expected.
The saw is well mannered and not peaky and is a darn nice saw that you can lean on. So, darn your earmuffs!
