Does any money come from YT itself? I've always wondered what comes from that, seems to be enough that some people go full time making videos.

The check comes from google/youtube.

Depending on the amount of views and the type of content the payout is all over the place. Advertisers bid to place the ads on your videos. Also opens up other possibilities for sponsorships, brand deals, affiliate marketing and other sources of income.

To go full time better be getting all sorts of views. 500k + views a month might make 20k a year from ads alone. Then you have to pay taxes and any expenses to make the videos etc.

It is possible, but it is not just simple and easy. It is basically a business in itself.

Oh, and once you get a core audience. They don't tend to watch when you try something out of the wheelhouse lol

Welding project I'm working on. Not very popular with the saw crowd.

But that is the point of YouTube and subscribing to things you want to see. So I understand why not many are watching.

Most information about earning is on line , and probably more fleshed out from what most of us can provide about YouTube.
I come from a generation where its not considered polite to ask people "how much" they make.
I can tell you that for half the earners on YouTube it's enough to lie and deceive their audience, does that sound good?

And it varies so much from channel to channel. Some may get. 001 per click and others .00001 per click.

Lots of people lie and deceive in person, or on the internet. YouTube only makes that worse for that type of person.

Views/subscribers seems to be the new eBay feedback score.

Ish. So many ways to make $$ with YouTube the actual number dosent mean much until it gets really big. Once you hit the minimum requirements YouTube is helpful with more earnings. But the money from the ads is probably 10-15% of the equation

I meant the equation of a person's value less than the monetization side. I'm hearing more and more "this guy can't be shìt, look at how many subs/clicks he has". I know that is not you, I've just been seeing it more lately. Like a big number of ebay feedback equated to on-line commerce superiority.

Gotcha.

Yeh, some people sure do get wrapped up in how many subs/views.

Too bad really, big head tends to get in the way of other opportunity.

I've not even seen the parts/layout yet.

All that is up in the air lol
Sooo I have this Husky 359 and a OEM 272 cylinder....maybe even a 460 piston. Anyone have thoughts on a carb/ boot for feeding a 359/272 hybrid? I haven't figured out a muffler yet either.

I have thought about taking a gander at this hybrid but using a 670 cylinder which has a rubber intake boot.
Whatcha doing with the 359 cylinder?

I need to go back and look again to see what he did
From the build thread, in the beginning he used a walbro 199 carb -
Ms361 muffler,
272xp cylinder,
Ms460 piston,
RWJ-4 carb,
372 oe intake boot.
The 361 muffler may not be the best option, but it's what I had on hand. I do regret not buying a cheap Chinese one to use instead.

Sooo I have this Husky 359 and a OEM 272 cylinder....maybe even a 460 piston. Anyone have thoughts on a carb/ boot for feeding a 359/272 hybrid? I haven't figured out a muffler yet either.

CJS poured epoxy and re-shaped the intake so a circular boot would fit. He used an 056 boot that he trimmed to fit the original intake ring and kept the EL42 (maybe it was an hda199?). I did it. It takes a long time but it does work. He wasn’t particularly happy with it before porting. After he ported it he swapped to a RWJ setup. He didn’t say how he made the linkages work.

My saw isn’t done yet so I’m just blowing smoke, but I think the way CJS altered the 272 cylinder was a mistake. He tried to make a bottom fed cylinder out of the 272. Since he was running a windowed piston that wasn’t necessary and he created a lot of unnecessary case volume. I think that’s why he wanted the bigger carb. I’m just guessing though. Also, the guy was on drugs. He had talent though!

As for the muffler, CJS used a 361 muffler that he hammered to fit. Again, unnecessary. The bolt pattern between 359 and 272 jug leaves enough room to shape a spacer. I used 5/16” aluminum plate, countersunk the holes that go into the 272 jug, and threaded the plate to take the bolts from the original muffler. It pushes out the muffler 5/16”, so you have to alter or fabricate a new muffler bracket (that’s where I stopped).

A 670 cylinder can also be used, but the boot isn’t as helpful as I hoped. You either have to use the stock carb and intake setup (not sure if there’s room for the air filter) or do even more grinding on the intake than the 272. I’m in the process of acquiring a 2159 to experiment further.

Edit: The 460 piston isn’t necessary. 272 is fine or various other 52mm could be used (372 BB, 064, 180-480, etc)

A lot of people don’t like to see real work. But I do! Very interesting.

I plan on messing with mine once I get home. Maybe some sort of intake block could be made and use the 272 carb setup.
