the middle part is not 16mm the outside ends may be close to 16mm im not gonna waste my time measuring
if we was to do that we could go to a different thread where you and another suckpump have been running down the 500i when you have very limited time running a 500i

When I run the 500i down I will let you know, I said the filter design is not the best and it's expensive compared to the other option the OP was asking, every saw has its good and bad points, the 500i is light and strong, pricey poor filter design and sucks fuel, simple facts.

I went to my parts pile of C3M carburetors. Most measured an identical 16.6mm.4040D227-DD86-4D16-93F1-EDBD23EFD152.jpeg The HD16 and HD12 have slight variations in the angle of the nozzle the way it comes into the bore. But the venturi measurements were very similar. 730920DF-6E4C-42CF-8FA2-7FBE89CAF2FE.jpeg56E2E875-1DCD-4E95-A3CD-7E0D532A27D7.jpeg There are slight variations on measurement depending where you position the calipers yes... but I got the same measurements as the factory spec using my method. My point was that carburetor size could be a having an effect on performance with some saws and I would be interested to see if the dyno would show this.

the top carb is not a 036 carb
also the c3m is a 044 carb and the venturi is 1 mm smaller than the hd carb
but where is a 036 carb measurement in your pictures

A zama C3 is an 036 carb no? I understand there is variety in the choke and throttle linkage setup for a saw specific carb.

Ah I wonder if there is a difference. Do you have measurements of the carb bore and inside of the carb? Would be interesting to compare and contrast.
