interesting I never messed with a 555 can anyone chime in with exactly what the differences are between a 555 and a 562?

I'm thinking the 562 has case stuffers on the crank and the 555 does not.

Yep, and the 555 is a small mount case, same as the 346. The transfer tunnel covers are also smaller on the 555, which brings the torque curve down.

Another way to bring the torque curve down, is to run a Stihl bar on them..

Automatically makes them 20% slower and "turdier"...

My ported 562 from WWS is still alive, after something like 1500 tanks of fuel. Yes, they need some extra love, but it's a great saw, good power/weight ratio, great chain speed, great torque...

If you use your own saw, an if you take care of it, it will last you long enough to pay it at least 10 times.

And my MMWS 562 feel even stronger, and better build. I can't wait to kill my WWS's and use this one...or will I use my MMWS 6100 at first? Damn, I think I need help!

I spent a lot of time on these sites explaining the whole 562 roolout deal. Early saws had several issues that have been corrected. Not always on the first try either. I'm not going to spend the entire morning retelling that whole story.

This thread title would have been entirely appropreate back in 2011-2012, but that was then. There is no "dirty little secret". The only sercets it seems, are like @pro94lt who have run the snot out of them for years, but we don't hear about those saws.

As it stands now, the 562 is my best selling saw, by a 3-1 margin over the previous champ, the 372. No worries about sending them out. If they were ticking time bombs they'd all be blowing up in MY lap, and believe me, i wouldn't want to deal with them. My saw sales are 85% pro models, and most of them are in a serious work environment. I deal with several Asplundh and Lewis crews. They all run plenty of 562's and 550's. I love the things.

Very stuck.. Don't really want to say any more. I'da made it had I had more horsepower. Husky needs to make a 562xp dump truck.

You definetly cant go wrong with either of those two saws! Both awesome saws there my two favorite 60cc class saws

Please describe "blowing up". To some people it means the saw won't start on the 3rd pull, to others it means the crank punched a hole in the cases.

Wow broken crank..hmm... Must have been an extreme situation.. 562s are a pro model saw not a good choice to learn the dynamics of saw handling falling and bucking etc... Kind of like selling someone a Pro Sharp grinder that's never ground a chisel chain.
They are the smoothest best handling 60cc saw for sure..
I cut timber for 5-6 days a week for 5 years and thought I had it all figured out boy was I wrong... lol Working on my own saws for over twenty years I thought I new saws ... Until I found Racesaws a few years back, thanks to the online community like OPE I learn new tricks almost daily thanks guys....
I know a lot of pro timber fallers that run these 562s on certain jobs stumping 200 plus trees a day many of these saws make it past 600 hrs of run time. Most of them run 3/8 with 28 inch bars, It's how we roll out west cutting for yarders. We get all the bad ground they can't cut with dangle heads, hot saws etc...
I'm still wishing for a 75cc 562 big brother.

Corey, to expand on Guillaume 's comment I think the belief held by many is that a newer more nimble 70cc class saw is needed/ coming.

Just putting a sexy silver clutch cover on it doesn't make it handle like a 562.

I think if you look at the answers to your request for demo saw ideas I would be surprised if there was a 576AT listed but lots of 562XP requests.
