Only update is that the filter holder kits are "out for pick" this morning and I should see them on Friday. Saws are still out there somewhere. Same carb, and nothing I've heard about different AT stuff on the way.

But there is another carb IPL update that won't open............Have to wait and see on that.
Can any dealer order the new filter and holder if i give them the part numbers you listed?

@Spike60 do the “pre-air filter update”2020 year-manufactured 562s come with the same auto tune as the new 550mark2?

Seems to be a good upgrade so far, I have been running them on 2 different 562s.
The filter is tough, I rise it with mix and tap out on a wedge at days end.
Almost a month on them of cutting timber 5-6 days a week.
My ported saws run perfectly...

I would be interested in a filter and base as well. Thank you.

I ordered the new filter and holder straight off husky's website and if I remember correctly, it was about $45 shipped with taxes. I had it at my door 3 days later. Fifteen minute job to swap it out.

Thanks! I didn’t know you could order parts direct haha. They only have the kit in stock for the xpg. But not for the xp. The parts numbers are slightly different. Does it matter or is there an actual difference?

The XPG holder is blue and has an extra tang on the stop switch to ground the heating components but otherwise the same.

Ok thanks. I’ll look to see if they parts are in stock separately. If not I’ll just wait until the correct one is in stock.

Both of mine are the XPG blue ones installed on XP saws. Oh and you don't need a different top cover.
Easy to mount up like Flip said.

I wonder if the 550 mk 2 ones would mount on OG 550s!?
If they did a guy would have to modify the top cover...

The 550 MK II filter holder moves the purge bulb a few mm forward so it doesn't fit the MK I cover right. The new 562 filter holder fits perfectly. This is the OG 550 with the new 562 filter setup and an OG 545 cover modified with a heat gun and a shovel handle as a mandrel to shape it.

I did have to clearance the top left of the holder and pulled the top gasket and used liquid tape to seal it. Here is an old 562 holder I did last year.

Anyone know if the new filter set up will fit a 2260 without issues with the cover

That's good to hear Flip, it sure would help the OE 550. Once I get another NE 562 filter and holder I'll try this mod on one of my 550s.

How much heat works best for stretching the top cover?

You got to get it pretty plyable, I just did trail and error. The one thing I didn't think about was getting the cover out of square. I had to sneak it into the oven and square the cover back.

What have they done to increase bearing/crank durability and hot starting issues in the new version 562? I like the filter changes and love the design of the 572xp hoping the new version 562 emulates enough of the new version 550 and the 572 to cure previous shortcomings as I had a few and really liked how they performed
