My 550 was early 2015 and it never cranked easy and had a bog off idle if idled more than about 30 sec. I eventually found a leaking flywheel side seal and replaced it, sealed everything up , pressure tested the saw and no leaks. It got worse. I had to hold the trigger wide open to crank it and stay on the throttle to keep it running. Cleaned the carb several times and checked metering level but no luck. I threw the towel in and sent it back to where the saw orginally came from, husky dealer in Virginia, which they kept 2 months and could never fix. Traded it for the 562xp and not 1 problem so far. It had the EL42 carb which I think was the problem

AT 1 sound right on the problematic carb?
I cant remember on the 550 now but the one on it was the problematic one.
Seems at1 and the at7a is the newer updated one but the el42 was problematic on the 562xp but I think my new one has the el48
Yup...thats the one with the air bleed fix that Brad and others looked into.
Ive screwed with the adjustment under the sealed cap. My recommendation would be DONT!!! LOL!!
