What if you add some intake timing and hog out the transfers?

kinda big carb for small displacement.
makes tuning tougher and most likely would only benefit at wot and high revs.
would be an interesting swap on a race/well modded saw

Shaun Carr put a full 372 intake/ carb setup on one of his racer 346s and that thing ran like a scalded dog.

Not a bad idea but what I would gain RPM but would lose the “lugging” ability.

Your thinking bigger flow channels would increase RPM but lose torque? I would have thought the opposite.

Shaun Carr put a full 372 intake/ carb setup on one of his racer 346s and that thing ran like a scalded dog.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the intake and transfers were larger inside. He has talked about that on some of his other builds. Probably some extra exhaust too.

I know everything is relative. Do you have another thread on the rest of the build on this saw? I'm guessing it's not stock. Not everyone wants to share & I totally understand. If we all had an idea of the level/extent of port work done, it might shed more light on the subject. At any rate, thanks for sharing bud!

I did a thread on another recipe a while back but I have a different recipe now. .030” from band, .030 from. exhaust 105.5, transfers 121 intake 80
More exhaust will probably be good with this carb, im thinkin 102-103. Lowers were case matched,

That should make good use of the 372 carbs flowing abilities. [emoji6]

At the start of this thread I didn't realize the recipient of this carb swap had been "massaged"!!
Had I realized that I wouldn't have made my earlier comment. My sorries!! Lol

Hello. I am not an expert, but i think you need more blowdown, like 25 degrese. So that small cylinder can handle the big load from the carburator. More fuel mix comming in, more has to get out.
