I have 2 oe & 2 ne & none of them do it.
My Poulan 5020 was bad for this but I seem to have tuned it out of that also.

Are you saying that you can start you 346XP totally cold and as soon as it fires you can pull the throttle and it doesn't hesitate?

I’m not saying that straight from cold to cutting wood. I’m just saying that from cold to blipping the throttle it would bog.

Ok Kiddies, went out to start those 346's today, 37 degree's f, high wind.
None of these saws have been run in at least a week, some in months. First up, Tree Monkeyed NE, no bog, revved rite off the bottom, seemed a little rich on low tho.
Next up an OE that I ported, now this had a slight bog which lasted all of 5 seconds or so.
Then did an OE & NE both with gasket delete & muff mod, neither bogged, OE seemed a little rich on low.
Also started the 5020 p, no bog, it was also the easyest starter of the bunch, I do like primer bulbs.

SO back to the 346xp yesterday.

Re-tuned back to factory, opened the high side up to compensate for the muffler mod till it was 4 stroking hard.

Retuned in the wood so that it cleaned up nicely and the low side would give good pick up and then good idle down after a cut.

Left it overnight, fired it up this morning and...

Fired up easily, blipped the throttle. NO BOG...

I guess I had it tuned to rich on the low..

My NE346xp is finicky on tuning. Several WJ169s and they all tune oddly with the 359xp intake and air filter on the lowside and idle. Not a saw that idles well after a cut if left idling for a longer period

My 350 does this -- if I let it warm up while on high idle or just wait a bit if I take if off high idle and blip the throttle a bit it is ready for work.
All of my other saws are not this way.

We have a 346 OE and a 346 NE (my brothers' saws) and the OE I noticed needed a bit from cold start to not bog.
The NE is an OE that Neal Murphy turned into an NE w/ just a muffler mod and on cold start is more quickly work ready than the OE.

Not sure any of it means much... all of the saws when warm run great.

Cheers.
