They are fun to run, you can bury the bar, lean on it and they just keep cutting, very impressive speed and torque combination. Probably gonna put a bigger carb on one this weekend, for some reason it feels like it can use more fuel.
My buddy Laslab just put I believe a Walbro HDA199 on his and unlimited coil and yea thoso saws are pretty mean!! U ever ran a 550xp? Wonder how they compare? Im not a fan of electronics at all myself though

I'm really interested in this thread. I'm gonna be doing a few 350's with 45mm tops. Are those 346 tops?

Jeremy, have you priced the OEM 346 top ends?

Dan, I'm looking for a pic of "squaring the intake"

Doc, I think the oem 346xp top ends are about as cheap as the aftermarket ones....so might as well go oem.

Dan,

If you ever wanna raise them trannys, just take a ride down. I'll help you anyway I can.
I think I will take you up on that sometime. Id love to learn some tricks.
I'm going to keep this one simple since it's not mine. I been wanting to do this and since its apart, I figured I'd do a little something to it.

I messed with a small stone and cleaned up the exhaust a little last night. Mostly just polished it. I won't get to it again til tonight or tomorrow.[emoji19]
Than I'll get a little crazier. I can see how a foot pedal will be useful!

Yea I owned a 550 ported by Randy, it was a nice little saw, but like you I'm not crazy about the electronics, chainsaws are a hobbie for me and getting that perfect tune is part of it.

My logger buddy gave me his beloved blown up 346 for Christmas.
He let his hunting buddy use it and got it back cooked.
I'm lookin for a top end for it. Recently heard that the OEM is about 1/2 cost it was a few months ago.
Anyway......Ill be doing a complete rebuild from the bottom up.
$ 98.00 for oem as of the 1st.!
