That is most likely the recoil spring there's 3 or 4 right now on flea bay .
The rope pulled right through the pulley. It was a little shorter than I’m used to, and was going full send…rope couldn’t handle it.That is most likely the recoil spring there's 3 or 4 right now on flea bay .
Slacker…I don’t think so…just don’t have time to deal with it right now, so no video today
Wow, that is purty!
It had been sitting on a shelf for at least 30yrs so the original grease had solidified. I had to disassemble, clean and reassemble. Several of the nos parts I got were/are in that condition. Makes for fun projects. Anyone need a crank assembly…NIB?Wow, that is purty!
Some times a kerosene douce can get it and some times not .Oilers can be a gigantic pain in the buttocks .If it won't oil is worse than if it won't run .It had been sitting on a shelf for at least 30yrs so the original grease had solidified. I had to disassemble, clean and reassemble.
If the flywheel comes off halfway decent, it isn’t a big deal to advance the timing. Now this timing thing .From OEM design it can be all over the place from 24 to over 30 advance .Little Partner and R-red are 24-25,McCulloch 26 and Stihl 27 .Old point type Lombards are over 30 .Points are easy to advance but a 2100 Husky would not be ,it would take an off set key IMO . I have no idea what the OEM timing would be on a 2100 ,never gave it a thought .If in good tune mine ran so well It didn't need anything except a stronger arm to roll that high compression SOB over .BTW I did get a tube of Loctite 638 yesterday after I got back from Columbus Ohio .I'll smear some over the carb welch plugs and give it another go tomorrow after it sets up to see if it hea
ls itself or if the saga continues .
You still had nice chips flying off of that chain. Sounds great! The chain is so-so c83 that has never been sharpened and has a few tanks on it.
How much did you advance yours? If the flywheel comes off halfway decent, it isn’t a big deal to advance the timing.
I haven’t done it yet. Btw, this saw isn’t mine. It is making me want one though. How much did you advance yours?
Just put a .404 tip on that sweet ORW bar , you’ll be ready to go , that’s what I doIt was getting a little dark, but I was able to get a crappy video after getting a rough tune setup. The chain is so-so c83 that has never been sharpened and has a few tanks on it. Since I still don’t have a .404 bar, I swapped out the .404-7 for a .375-8 sprocket. Also, my tach still wouldn’t read, so I don’t know where it is at for no-load. Lastly, I think it needs a timing advance, so I will have to do that and try to get take two in the next couple days.
My 28” RW bar is a 0.050” and my 37” is a 0.058”. I just need a 42” .404 bar. Seems like every time I need a big saw, the 36/37” isn’t quite enough.Just put a .404 tip on that sweet ORW bar , you’ll be ready to go , that’s what I do
It does. But it takes a lot of advance. They can handle a little without a problem.@srcarr52, I think I remember you correlating 2100 crank bearing failure to timing advance. Does that not apply here?
