I used a 395 piston in my pipe saw. The weight of it slowed the saw down compared to the OEM piston. I didn't realize how much till I went back to the OEM top end.

You can safely take 10g off a meteor 395 piston. Takes it from 117g to 107g, stock 2100 piston is 112g. I haven't weighed a 066 piston lately and I don't have it in my notes.

Would a heavier piston be good for a long bar ?

I can't see a heavier piston ever being a good thing. Although I like a heavy clutch and flywheel on a work saw. It's a reciprocating thing VS a rotating thing.

I have used them in the 2100, and the BB 066, and did take a bunch of weight off. But in the pipe saw I lightened the OE piston too. So......

I did a bb cylinder with a 395 piston, it's alright but that's it. Lighter rotating Assembly is better.

I finally got this saw running decent but I'm afraid of the piston so it's only at 12k.
I believe at 14k it will be sporty.
I'm loading a video now

Yes, reciprocating doesn't work the same as rotating mass, especially on a system with a crank rod. A lighter piston is always better.

Lil red barn has aftermarket 056 pistons...I have had good luck with those...I tried a 395 piston even wasted a jug doing by machining the chamber flat...I didn't have good results...it didnt run that well...went and found another jug and put a domed piston back in....this is just my personal experience not saying it can't be made to work

It will be 98.5 cc's no matter what piston you use, crown height doesn't change it.

Only a increase in bore size or stroke will change displacement.
With the taller crown of a 394 you're adding 5mm worth of volume to the cylinder above the exhaust roof which is more cc's. How many exactly I do not know...I made a guess.
A shorter piston used as a direct fit in the 064 case would leave it the 93cc size.
