OK. Just the look of that scares me though. I always want the best for my saws. Gotta take care of and respect the tools. Lol
If you don't mind the look of the larger Max flow cover, then it is probably the way to go

Yeah
If I'm gonna spend that kinda $ on a filter, I'd get the Max-Flo.

But (5) filters for $16 sounds pretty damn good considering I have (3) saws that require them.
Especially if they work & perform better than OEM.

I'll save my pennies and get a Max-Flo for muh ported 661 tho

Dan, HD-2 Filters ARE PLEATED, are you sure you are not testing the regular HD??? I did not see a pic of an HD-2 filter.

Also, would like to see the test w/o the spitback and w/o the foam.

The covers are for the HD filters, not the HD-2s.

Some of my saws seem to have more spitback than others, so I may not run the foam on the ones that don't seem to spit back.

The dyno did not reflect much difference (if any) with the Max Flow vs Stihl w/o cover. I think they make a bigger difference on the 90 cc saws, and I don't plan to run around in the woods w/o a filter cover. Heck, my 460s did a lot of work in the rain yesterday.

I stand corrected Mike. I thought my hd1's were 2's.
I'll still run these cheap filters though. They work great for me.

OK, but the question regarding how they compare to a factory HD-2 still remains. (As well as how a Max Flow compares to an HD-2).

The HD-2s have been running pretty strong for me, and I like the idea of a pleated filter, a lot more surface area and harder to clog.

Maybe I will switch back & forth at the GTG and see how they do in timed cuts. I'm also interested in how long before they clog up compared to factory HD-2s. The price on them is great, but that does not mean they are a bargain!

But I will be trying them especially on my 044 that seems to spit back a lot (I'll run the foam in that one, since there is no spitback guard in a 044).

I'm pretty sure most new filters will be close. The real test is how they filter and flow after some time. These have a great foam gasket to seat against the frame and I don't get fines past it. The hd1 I get fines.
