I've got an 038 mag. It's rough but mostly complete. It's scored and now locked up. Paint is gone off the bottom but doesn't look rotted. Tank looks to be good also. Chain brake works, bing carb. Wasn't locked up when it came to me but has sat for a while.
So basically it's worthless lol. I was hoping the cylinder would be ok and I could keep an eye out for burnt up saw or enough parts to put one together. On to the 390s then.
I'm not out anything on it but if it was usable I was going to try to piece the saw back together. 10mm(I think)cylinder and just wanted to see what all the hype was about basically. Cases have some rot around the oiler.
Do you think this cylinder is usable?
The clips were missing and the pin slid over and locked up the saw. There's a little transfer on the exhaust side that catches a nail and the dent in the lower transfer port.
Buddy gave this to me. Of course he ran it till it wouldn't run anymore. Also gave me a 044. I think it's a 10mm but I have not run the serial number but it has the small screws in the recoil. Seems like there was something else too but can't remember. It's pretty clapped out too.
I didn't record it but by the time I had the face cut out of it several of his neighbors were out with their phones lol. Wished I would've but oh well. It all went well.
It was solid, the little one was soft in the middle. He wanted em gone because of the mess it makes. That and he's eventually going to asphalt the area they were in for more parking space.
