Found some local maple and spruce today in 24"-16" sizes. Anyone wanna guess how much the load weighed. I'll give you a hint it was green and downed friday. Trailer weighs 2k and is 20ft long by 82" inside. Wood was free other than fuel and time. Custom racks on pickup not used yet too much tongue weight.49429.jpeg 20181028_170134.jpg

I'll hazard a guess that you've got close to 4,000lbs of wood in that trailer. And the truck weighs what, 7,500, so you're grossing something like 13-14000.

How'd I do?

It's roughly 2 cord at 2800 a cord for spruce and 4-4500 for the maple I'd agree he's a little light.
Always hard to guess that sort of stuff so I like to lean toward the heavy side.

I first guessed 5000, but when I was how much was spruce I backed off. Think there's 2 cords in there?
Then again, that's only a 7000 pound trailer. And it doesn't look overloaded. But I've never really hauled wood on the trailer so I have no idea

I just figure it will get a little larger when it's split.
I figured 2' tall by 7'(gave a couple extra inches) by 20'.
2x7x20/128=2.1875, so little less for the 2" and whatnot.
Also, call me crazy, but that maple sure looks like the ash that grows around here...
A bunch does look like ash, wasn't sure myself on the ones in the back with all the crotches .

It looks to me like the trailer is a little squatted as the truck looks to be a 3/4 or 1 ton(probably a 1 ton, but I'm not a dodge guy).
I've don't usually let a thing like a weight limit stop me from hauling more weight, hope your saws aren't turned up past the manufactures specs Kevin :risas3:.
