I have bought a few longer flex shafts but the last no time where a standard foredome shaft is tough as nails but they break too.
I've gotten pretty good at fixing them
I go through brushes in my foredomes like crazy and just put the first set in my grizzly and it's 3 years old.
I have a foredome that's over 5 years old.

I'm gonna get a brushless foredome next.

With a longer cable comes a bigger risk of damaging it. :(
I'm sure, but I'm gentle with the CCS, and only really use the Foredom for uppers, I use the pneumatic for most of the port work.

I've also got an old SR from a friend that I could use with the short cable if I my fingers freeze with the pneumatic

I've tried a couple knock off hand peices but they get hot as hell and there not as smooth in your hand.

Pics of belt sanding cylinder bases verifying perpendicular to the bore would be appreciated. Thansk
How many saws have you built in your saw building career?
I've never heard of a single one.
I bet there runners though being all perpendicular.

I got the pfm II 1/8hp flexshaft setup by arbe machine mfg

The handpiece took a bit to break in, but has held up really well. 110$ motor, flex shaft, and handpiece.

The grizzly I use the most is around that price. I use foredome hand peices though
The shaft on it is more flexible than a foredome so it's more comfortable to use all day.

I will be getting a few more handpiece's soon the foredom seem to be about the best.

I did find on my cheap handpiece, running the bottom collar 2-3 threads from seated helped the heat issue a bunch.
