Can't tell from the picture, but somebody did a whole lot of work to make that pile and it makes one wonder why they'd be giving it away if it were even halfway decent firewood.

Went back to the honey hole last night and the bad news is the logger got in there early and made a frickin mess. Good news is he is missing 3 good sized oaks. [emoji6]

I’ll go back after the leftovers and wait for the next phase to open up.

Scrounging some wood from a 2 year old unit, this unit was hit hard by wood cutters. But there's still a lot of good easy wood here to be cut, as you'll see.

A small Alpine pond we passed on our way to the wood hole.

Pulling into the old unit.

There's some wild grain in this stump, pretty cool.

A red cedar snag at the edge of the unit.

My oldest boy is looking over the log and getting ready to gas up the Huztl 660, it's running a 32" bar.
The log we're after, big old dead chunk of Sitka Spruce, we cleaned up the end cut and sliced off 5 rounds. That was plenty of wood for a load in our Dodge Dakota.

I finally had a chance clean up a couple of trees that were blown down during the spring storms. I still have a couple smaller ones to do but being a one man band, after cutting, loading, hauling and piling, in 90* temps, I was done. The pile sure felt a whole lot larger than it looks. 53 rounds.
My 562xp wouldn't start and I hit a piece of embedded something on the second cut with my ms261, so I did everything with an ms460. I felt the added weight by the end of the day.
