We are required to take it because it is part of our contract. Don't have to take it during the day if you don't want to, but there is language that if we should choose to we are allowed to take it between the third and sixth hour of work. There are days I can add an hour or more of overtime taking it during the day. If we don't take it they are supposed to add it to the end of the day, but we have an idiot in the office that thinks he can take it out of our paid for time. One more time and he and several others will be fired. I am hoping he changes my time card because I will allow it to go to payroll and involve the Department of Labor. The grievance is already written, just need some dates.
