People who say they are going to show up to buy a saw or parts and don't even have the courtesy to phone as to why they can't make it or change their minds, I no longer build my day around it and first come first serve as far as selling saws.- different generation than old school the way I was raised.
You see it in T/Post threads too and demand all these pics when they have absolutely zero intention of buying, but they just want to see stuff.

People expecting you to lend them a saw. Sure, I'll lend you a saw...with me to operate it. Last time I loaned one I got me a blown up saw in return.

Dull chains
Plugged filters (any)
Bars that haven't ever been maintained
Sprockets on their last legs
Leaks
Never getting cleaned/blown out...

Got another one to add. I was cleaning up some downed trees at my high school. A senior there was using a 5020 Poulan that he thought was better than any other saw there. He was getting on my nerves, so I challenged him to race me and my 490. I made sure both saws were tuned right and running sharp chains. I ended up kicking his ass and he blamed the saw, so we traded saws and I kicked his ass again. He didn’t talk to me for rest of the day
Lmao

Pet peeve?

Being around guys that think you’re a wimp if you don’t use a saw that’s four times too big and heavy for the job of the moment. I have saws that are light and powerful for When I’m limbing or climbing. On my disaster relief chainsaw crew the whole bunch grabs the biggest saw they can get even if they’re only limbing. I’m 71 years old and I can use the right saw and work rings around them, but they still imply that I’m a wimp because of that little saw. I get a big saw when I need one.

To me that depends on which model rancher. The 455 and the 460 are pretty heavy for the power they put out. But I actually really like the little 450, as it’s light and has good power too, pulls a 16 .325 real nice. Even though for an extra $50 I can get a 501p

I was very surprised at how much power the 450 had. it pulls a 16 bar buried without bogging at all. i ran a 455 daily when i worked for a guy that had one for his climbing saw. until my myffler mod on my 357 it would as good as it. now that the muffler iz opened up it isnt even close.
