Never said they weren't American made...they just don't make their own tools...williams makes alot of their tools along with a few other companies!

theres more sockets that go to that.. and it was used,,in the days of real fans on engines,,to get the bolts on the fan hub loose, without cutting your finnnners......

It's marketed as the snap on industrial brand. According to their site it's been that way for 15 years.

I finally dragged in the box I bought on Thursday. It had 20 ratchets and a whole bunch of wrenches.

image.jpg image.jpg

6 Craftsman ratchets and a sliding breaker bar, other ratchet brands are NAPA, S-K, Stanley, etc. Snap-On 1/2" swivel socket and screwdriver, Williams, Bonney, Proto, Wright, a bunch of other wrenches and 2 pairs of Channelocks.

really??? pffft....
Snap On FS80 ratchets are supposed to be the best in the business. I dont doubt that. The price is high but if you are making a living with it or can afford it fine. As far as good prices look at Gearwrench. http://www.gearwrench.com/84T_FullRatchetLine_Brochure_V5_lo.pdf[/QUOTE]

I can't speak of the gearwrench 84t ratchets but the standard 36t ratchets feel really good when new, but get sloppy after about a year of daily use. I just got a snap on f80 and love it so far.

Jh Williams has been around long before snap on!
Snap on bought them in the 90's and essentially stamped snap on on the Williams tools...
I used to work at our local Armstrong dealer, they also sell Williams, and many other brands. They're an industrial supply house similar to MSC but much smaller.

Thanks, but it's the gear wrench ratchet that got sloppy, the f80 is only a month old and smooth as butter.
