Went to look at an MS660 today that I bought and the seller wanted to get rid of an 009, too, so I picked it up for $40, which is probably $20 too much. It has compression, but needs a bit of cleaning. Anyone else think there's a decent looking chainsaw hiding under all that dirt and grime?

Sometimes when you get all the grime off there is a decent saw underneath. That one is going to take some work giving it a bath. Looks like it lived in cow barn for a few years.

I've had a 009 for ~ 10 years now. Handy for pruning in the orchard or on ice fishing trips. Some people don't like them but for what they are aceptable.

Ha! That's exactly where it was! Seller said it was in the barn and they do have cattle.

I figure it will make a good backup to my 020 AV top handle.

The dirty ones quite often come up looking the best I've found. Less sun bleaching I suppose

I've gotten saws that dirty. Sometimes they can be in nice shape! $40 doesn't seem too bad. I'd like to find a good deal on a 009 for my collection eventually. Nice!
They must have been a popular saw when they were current, I've somehow ended up with 4 without trying. 009 010 and 011 a couple are orange.
