I cant understand why must use two or three saws for the same tree , its like to use two or three diferent spoons for eating the same soup

for example with a 562 or 362 or 6100 can cut , can bucking , can limbing

the next step is what ?? measuring the branches and if one is bigger of 10 cm we use the 562 and if is smaller of we use the 200t ??

If I only wanted one saw any of those that you mentioned would be suited for the job. But since I'm some what young and dumb and have this so called "sickness". I figure why the hell not have more then one.

@Keith Gandy I know what you mean when you say joints and stuff hurting I hate getting older, but for me with tree work being my job it only going to get worse. My 200t, cs271t are my tree saw and when I dirt nap big trees my 261cm is my limbing saw weight power in my HO can't beat it 16" bar flat out gets it done...

I know the 261cm isn't on the list but stock mine was fire right out the gate for me time is money and so it better get it or I won't have it... @Mastermind from what I understand makes the 346xp nasty and the 261cm...

You will make a good choice Keith your a smart guy good luck, good info in this thread gentlemen.... stay safe....

I was looking at the kombi heads at the saw shop a couple weeks ago when needed an edger ,cool setup ,can put a polesaw head on them ,a hedge trimmer ,a lawn edger ,and string trimmer on the same powerhead ,they had 4 mix and 2 stroke powerheads ,i have an 026 anything over 6-8 inches around ticks me off when using it honestly ,yes it cuts bigger ,but real slow compared to a bigger saw .

Ive learn to appreciate the 4 mix with the valve system more now . They have more torque than the 2 stroke

I got 2-3 saws, rarely I swap saws on one tree, for awhile I took one JRed 2253 and one MS 200 with me, but I almost never started up the 200.
In general I could had survived with a quality 50cc saw, as most use in Europe.
For me the difference is how they balance with the bar more then weight&cc, 262xpg - 18", 2253 - 16", 242 - 13-15", pluss the ergonomic shape of whatever saws I've owned, this is how I have sorted out saws I want to keep or get rid off.
I belive this is what Keith are thinking about.

Exactly. Balance is everything! My 064 with a 28 es light balaces like a dream. Im thinking the 562 will balance just right with a 24" ES light. Anybody know exactly what a 24 es light weighs?

Keith I used to have a 241 for my limbing/small work saw. Before that I had an echo cs500p. I missed the echo so much after selling it and buying the 241, I bought an Echo cs490. The only difference between the cs500p and 490 were a composite handlet on the 490 and the 490 was lighter. Both saws have a pro style mag case and rim sprocket.

When I muffler modded the 490 it ate the ms241's lunch plus it only weighed a half pound more with both saws wearing 16" b&c.

I liked that the 490 had 2 bar studs versus the single stud set up of the 241. For some reason I always had to fiddle with the 241 to get the chain tension right.

The vibration damping on the 490 isn't as good as the dolmar 421 or the ms 241, but it's better than the old ought series Stihls I used to run. The filter isn't as nice as either of those saws either.

All this is a really long winded way of saying the echo 490 is a best budget buy 50cc saw in my mind. Mine was $250 to my door off fleabay. So I guess my write in vote is for the echo cs490.

If money was no problem I'd maybe try the 346. Although, I find myself using the dolmar 6100 75% of the time these days anyway.
