Lol!!! That felling cut is more than 1/3!!
That was my rookie days ,i back em up with a wedge now ,did not want to walk up to get the axe and wedge that day so tried the steep deep face ,(didn't work lol ),i forgot them ,so ended up walking up to get another bar anyways .Wont start a cut now after that day without 3 wedges within reach or my axe after that day .

Any saw that makes the work go faster is worth it, and a ported limbing saw will let you do a little bucking with it w/o the time penalty.

It is like there is no reason to have a dull knife either.

I don't see where a ported saw would be faster in 2-3" limbs. You need RPM's to limb fast not torque. When to wood gets bigger then the torque of a ported saw makes a little difference.

I bet my muffler modded 550xp would limb circles around bigger ported saws.

This is not a light limbing saw this is a saw for the most firewood jobs , and if you have a 550 or a 562 what you need a saw that have only 5 or 10 cc diferent
This 346 will be ported and wear a 16" Cannon Supermini with PS chain and handle everything 16 and under

Sure sounds like you found a great little saw and at a great price. Your game plan for this saw sounds pretty sweet too.
