When is skip better than full comp?

Just a little follow up. I ran skip square ground on my 572 28 inch bar. Cutting some gum actually a lot of gum trees. It cut it like butter and it was fast
My Saw is stock.
I too am running full skip on my 572, 28” utilizing an 8 pin only cause it’s full skip. Cuts just as fast as full comp it “seems” and less teeth to sharpen.

Unfortunately I was cutting dirty wood that was pushed over by an excavator but that Square ground chain cut beautiful I made about two tanks of gas and a chain had to be sharpene
