I got some stuff here Deeter that you might wanna try. It's a thinner version of winch rope. I picked up a few feet but haven't tried it myself yet.
I had some bigger rope I used, it’s the same size as what’s in the 088.I got some stuff here Deeter that you might wanna try. It's a thinner version of winch rope. I picked up a few feet but haven't tried it myself yet.
Of course then you might tear something else up. Lol
Shoot me a PM with your address and I'll send it to you if you want.
Dave, your not helping my reasoning for getting an old school correct recoil housing for this old flat top. LolThey make replacement inserts for the housing to keep the groove from cutting the rope, oem and aftermarket I stock em![]()
Anyone ever work on a 056? I just worked on one today and all I can say is I never want to work on one ever again. Most over complicated, over engineered and difficult saw I’ve ever worked on. You have to remove the entire top handle/cover and gas tank just to get to the topend/intake boot/impulse line. Real cherry on the top is the fuel tank has to be split to replace the fuel line. A 2100/288 from the same era is way easier to work on.

Had a guy come by yesterday afternoon and pick up a saw I fixed for him. He’s carrying a small saw case and asks if I’d have a look at a saw for a friend of his. Says “bet you haven’t seen one of these”....Lol! The other two were dropped off a while ago with same directions. “When you have time, can you get this running.....it’s for a friend

The one in the middle prolly has only made a couple of cuts.
You have to keep in mind when it was made and where it was made .The Germans being Germans are stubborn bull headed bunch .Swedes being Swedes are a tad bit are more deeper thinking lot .Anyone ever work on a 056? I did a fuel line on mine without splitting the tank....it's a real pain in the dick, but it can be done. Long needle nose or those doctor forceps/roach clip things are your friend.
Doctor forceps/roach clip things = hemostat
First rope was the used assemblyThat is why I like the Elastostart handles, that little bit of extra give prevents a lot of breakage (both of the rope and the assembly). For the 066/660s I order the one with the thicker rope (the inside spool is larger than a 440/460).
Handle/Rope part # 1122 190 3400.
Process of elimination with the fuel system on this 4300. Dealer couldn't figure it out. It's definitely the carb, primer bulb will only fill half way with fuel. It'll start run for a little bit, get lean and die.
