Isn't going to leak gas if it's letting pressure out?
I gut the 3 valve pieces and put back the mesh plug. The vent is now like any old pre epa saw tank vent. They weep when filled up, but when running zero leaks. No more pressure spewing out when cap is opened. No need to buy the echo vent either.

I’ve never looked on a 562, is that vent pushed into the tank housing?

Be sure to let me know how it works.

I have an echo one here too but I think I’d have to run a line into the carb area then.
Will do. The way the area behind the vent is setup on the 562 it looked like it would be hard to run a line in there and attach it to a echo vent when I was studying it. Husky revised this tank vent a few times before I believe. Early 562 had the line to carb box attached to the intake manifold from vent, later ones they got rid of the vent line and just left the vent there. Probably to flow better and it’s also a simpler setup is my guess why they did that.

Mine appears to be an early model.
What year is it? Mines a 2016 has el48 and vent with no hose. They already have a el48 replacement on the newest ones believe it or not. Lol. At least it’s continual improvement that interchanges with older saws I think.

2012 w/el44. Supposedly had an update in 2014 but I’ve never checked it. It runs nicely so I’m not messing with updates. It doesn’t seem to have any of the hot start or bog issues. I’ve cut cooling holes in the top cover and added an mm.

I’d like to play with some dynamat extreme (or whichever one helps with heat) and try to keep temps down. I was talking with a guy who claims it reduced heat by a quite a bit. I like how on that new 572 they have that white composite as a barrier to reduce heat. I’m wondering how far you could take the concept?
