Briggs used to pack a short (maybe 2 ft) remote throttle assembly with the 16hp Vanguards, or at least the first ones that I saw unboxed.
I used a lot of the solid core wires to make nice hooks for pulling fuel and oil lines up in saw tanks, etc. They were pretty danged stiff and springy.
Any customer that asked about where I got the hook , with the long "handle" and I'd usually hand it to them as a "door prize".
Gave a few to guys who were trying to make up a missing link for that Clinton motor or somesuch.

Old chain files were handy for making de-burring tools.
Those die cast (Zinc alloy?) rope pulleys for saws, were bad to have some ugly flashing down in the bottom of the rope grove where to rope hole was.
I'd take 3~4 old round files and use the chain grinder wheel to work a dimpled tip onto the file end.
Usually needed at least two different shapes to get into the rope hole and get the danged burr/flash trimmed out and shaped up with a proper -smooth- radius.
The tip of the file sort of resembles the bottom/back of the gullet on a chain tooth before you clean out the tooth shape.

Silly of anyone to think that handle made it on the Bench. I have an original but opted to a elastostart. You can have this one if you need it
It's an old Mac handle , hard to find anywhere. I'm cleaning up an 850 and a 7-10 for restoring, it would be great to finish 1 of them with an period correct handle.

Yesterday morning, I met up with a guy to buy leaf springs for my truck. I left with a Dana 60. Last night, my truck drove home from my shop with said Dana 60 under it. What a wild day lol.

Ira - correct handle for the 7-10 would be 91255, the one on the PM850 was also used on the 600 Series saws, early numbers were 93137 (handle) and 62191 (insert), later saws the PN for the insert was updated to 214699. Send my your address and I will forward one of each.
