From what I understand, broken fins can lead to imbalance and later other issues (possibly air leaks). If it was one fin, I probably would not sweat it, but more than one, especially close together may create issues.
The magnets are scratched up as well, it was rubbing on the coil it looks like.

I received some parts today and got a start on getting my friend's Husky 61 back together. He said that he got it about 20 years ago after it was overhauled. In the last 20 years it has been heavily used and things were starting to break and it was really hard to pull over, luckily no scoring.

The trigger was broken, so, could not lock for starting. Bearings were getting gummed up and the flywheel side oil seal was falling apart. When I took the saw apart, I thought it had a small o-ring between the bearing and the oil seal...no, ends up that o-ring is the spring from the oil seal - the seal rotted and the spring is coated in crusty carbon to make it look like it was an o-ring.

The case halves are back together with new bearings, gaskets and oil seals. It spins really nice now.

This is the first saw I have worked on with a two-part coil. The wiring is old and some of the coating is cracking. Are there any good fixes without cutting the wire to replace it or slide on heat shrink? Would dabbing JB weld over those areas work or is there something better?

Almost new 2024 Husqvarna K770 concrete saw (2024 model). The pulse line looks like it split when it was installed at the factory. The cylinder is not scored at all, but the plating is worn in weird lumpy grooves all around; $330 list for the cylinder/piston kit. Wow, that was an expensive year of use.

I came back from the TN GTG and there were 5 more saws waiting for me...

I had just dropped off a Disston DO-101 to Steve Lambert and I come home to find another one has arrived, this one is more complete and in better condition.

Someone also left an older version of the Pioneer Holiday saw.

None of them have actually hit the bench, or will any time soon.

2007 Husky 353 gas tank.

Of course there's no breather in the vent hole, but there's some kind of obstruction so it won't pass air in or out. It's hard to get light into the deep dark hole, but it almost looks like a ball bearing at the far end. I was expecting just simple hole.

I've got a bag of echo breather and some fuel line. Would it make sense to open up the primer return fitting and connect a breather line there, or am I missing something?

I just dealt with this on an oe346. IMG_5107.jpegIMG_5185.jpeg

Did this, then ran a fuel line up to the carb box where I put an Echo style vent. The hole is offset so that vent doesn’t just push in like it appears it should. 🤷🏼‍♂️
