The missing link for this guy showed up a few days ago and I got tired of kicking a box full of parts so I slapped it together last night. I know the filter isn't oiled yet, I'm waiting till I get it running right so I won't be grabbing an oily filter every time I go to take the carb off. Big shout out to @Nate. for supplying the very rare n.o.s. fullwrap and spacer block I was looking for.

Last night's project, not perfect yet but I'm liking it so far.

I did this a little bit ago, but I discovered the perfect cylinder a/v spring for the 3/4 wrap on my 350. The cylinder a/v spring off a 390xp is pretty much the perfect length, it's a skooge long on mine, but if I tweak the handle like I want or trim down the plastic flare a wee bit it'll be just right. The 350 one I put a spacer under was too short and the wrap rubbed on the top cover, this guy gives it ~1/4" or so of clearance.

It was an hour or so with a vice and a bigass wrench tweaking, checking, tweaking, etc but not too bad. I cut ~1" off the tank mount, ground a slope on the end of a 660 wrap elbow, installed a 390XP cylinder a/v spring, and that was pretty much it. If I did it again I would be careful on the pto side, the wrap needs to have a zig in it to meet the tank right and I awkwardly spaced it instead. Once I realized the correct plan the wrap felt too fatigued to re-adjust.

I haven't looked at this 444SG - 1984, for 6-8 years, figured I'd do what I was planning to do at the time.
Now it got a new oem fuel hose & filter, plug, and new HDC51 carburetor.

Then we'll see if it start again.

I have two things left to do, heli insert for the top cover screw, and check / fix the handle heat.

Looking good, Nick. You going to use a windowed piston?
Not sure yet Jim. It had a full circle windowed piston in it still in good shape. I might try and re-ring it and see where it is compression wise. Would like to stay with a windowed piston though. I'm pretty sure I have fresh meteors on hand if not. Can't remember what the meteors looked like. Still early in the build, haven't got that far, lol! I just take my time and they get done when their done. It's a project saw of mine, not for anyone in particular.
