on my bench today was the neigbors ryobi bp42 leaf blower. he said he put a new carburetor on it and it wouldnt run. gas was leaking all over the place. i replaced all the usual lines and such. i found the carb screws turned all the way in. she runs like a champ now.

Helpful neighbor attempting his own repair: "Oh...I found another loose screw, I better tighten them all down or this might leak.....hmm, now it doesn't run...."

Needs a good cleaning and inspection. We will have to make a few gaskets on the way back together since some were torn during disassembly. I would like to hear it run but I don't think I will go out and buy a boat...the fuel tank is rather rusty inside so this may be another "runs on prime" sort of display piece.

2.125" bore x 1.5" stroke makes this one 87cc, I think the block started life as one of the Super Series engine designs but has some modifications for this outboard application. It uses the same thin piston rings as many of the saws (48691).

All cleaned up and going back together...we had to make a couple of gaskets for the pieces that connect the engine to the shaft housing and that slowed things down. I have a bit more cleaning to do on some of the exterior pieces to try and remove some stains but I do believe it will look pretty good in the display, assuming I can find a space for it.
