The guy in this video cracks me up, he really loves old chainsaws! He fires up his Danarm 55 and it sounds like a beast!

In fact, he has a lot of different antique chainsaws / The second saw in the ad is bigger, so it also sounds better 😉

246 - 95, paid $100, only defect was a broken cord.
So it has been run rich mixture, guess its sprocket is on first.
A good basis to become a good chainsaw, and will be a summer saw in my collection.
Will get new hose, filter, gaskets, ring, plug, carb kit + porting of course

A tad carbon:

As expected, KS piston.

YFZ450 frames. Line bored with a hand drill. Aluminum Bronze bushings installed.
Not the most ideal way to do it... but, it works.

A couple more pics. Number 2 is complete.
This shaft was made from tool steel, the cutter was from a solid carbide end mill that I broke and modified/ground... then I just used basic tooling and pulled the bushings into their bores.

(2) 335xpt saws... they cleaned up ok... but, they need new pistons, fuel lines, etc... bearings feel good but I'll swap those out as well. Should be a decent project... might see if I can find some other piston that will aid in POWA. (38mm)

Looks like they cleaned up nicely. I haven’t had much time for my winter projects. The snow has kept me plenty busy. Seems we’re getting a break this week.

Well it was on the bench, made it on the back of the MB for pics though. Snagged this little 026 on eBay, didn't really notice that it was semi-frankensteined at the time. Gas tank/rear handle and top plastics are from a 260. Made putting the bigger 260 air filter in easy at least. It got 3 points and a muffler mod pretty much out of the box, waiting on a new bar and chain in the mail yet.

This is the HD air filter on one of my 461s after approx ten tanks of fuel.
And no, I don't run dull chains.

And this broken spark plug on my neighbours 026 cut my right index finger pretty good when I tried to unscrew it by hand.

How do they break like that does anyone know?
