Did you time the jug? Often they can benefit from lowering the intake a bit. The 066 I cleaned up for my Blue Beast looked a lot worse than yours when I got it, but it mostly cleaned up and runs real well. Final #s when I got done with it are 97, 123, 83 with squish of .020 (w/base gasket). It pulls very well.

Widened the exhaust, lowered the intake, and left the transfers bone stock.

272xp full wrap handle bar getting a new stihl grip. Gonna start with just air pressure and then go from there. Maybe a heat gun/wd40 or some other lube.
I used flex seal on some other saw handle bars which took awhile to do. I used the liquid "flex seal" with paint brushes, took about 15 coats to build it up thick enough. So far so good with the flex seal, dust sticks to it like a magnet tho. 272xp full wrap deserves better so stihl grip it is. I bought 32"s of it in case I screw up some of it.

Got the stihl grip on today, came out great. Took about 1 hour total. Used a lot of air pressure(50+psi) and dish soap. Hardest part was where the full wrap bar ends meet, it kinked the hose as it went on. Had to bend the bar a little bit but it bent back straight again. 2 people was a must, 1 guy applied the air and me pushed it on. Spraying soapy water in the hose then applying air worked best compared to just spraying soap on handlebar. I feel it's picture worthy so I'm gonna take a pic with my phone and try to upload that way.

If anyone consider powder coating, Mike @Glock37 is the one to ask. I'm educated car&industrial painter, I know when I see top notch quality done by others, and his work is awesome!

It should keep me busy for awhile :D, but, I only got full set parts for two of them, need to hunt down a couple 242 cranks, them with the bigger big bearing.

One I need to go through, straight gas scored, year 2009, may/may not build her, may go over the pond. They've not used spikes, other then that it's a decent looker.
a little leak:

Helps a lot to hook up the impulse line. Took a few minutes and some basic trouble shooting. Found a bent and "straightened out" throttle linkage and a slow leak at the tank side fuel line. Cleaned and inspected the carb. That helped but.....the real solution was playing contortionist with some hemostats and getting the impulse line hooked up. Dummy. Called Hans a few minutes ago and told him he could pick his saw up in the morning.

I'm sure yours will look better than mine lol. Its a lot smoother than it looks in pictures. Boy that plating is something else on these OEM cylinders. I kinda copied this one from a chainsaw Jim post I found. Numbers are Ex.106 Trans.121 In.78 without base gasket, didn't change any of that though. Just opened up transfers and widen intake and exhaust.
