I'm completely up in the air on this one I'm building. It's going to be a hybrid from boxes of junk. The universal solution is swapping the choke shaft control lever on the carb. Sometimes you can just swap the saw's control levers, but sometimes they will not work.
I wish I could remember which swaps worked and which did not, but I have done 460 carbs into a 461, and 461 carbs into 460s and 440s. I think you can also mod a 461 control lever to get a 460 carb to work.
I just know that some control levers will not work in some saws. I'm thinking a 460 lever in a 461, or a 461 lever in a 440??? (maybe both)? I just remember I had some problems when I played with these things.
I see the 461 IPL that I have lists a HD-50A & HD-51A.I have never seen the exact same model of carb with different jets, they usually change the last number or add a letter to differentiate.
Must of missed your comment.
