My friends $40 backpack blower with the busted piston is still running fine lol. I found it at a pawn shop last year and stripped it down and stopped when I found the piston. He said let’s see what it does and it’s still going strong.

Got my Husky 365 basket case ready to go back together.
The cylinder cleaned up good and the bearings look, feel, spin good.
Threw the cylinder on to check the new seals.

The PTO side is leaking around crank thru the bushing for the oil pump.
This seems to be a problem with this area leaking.
Someone said there is an O ring to seal the area. It is new and not on the parts sheet.
Anyone know about this issue?

The seal contacts the OD of the bushing and the leak is thru the ID.
I put sealant on the ID and let it cure when i put it together.

I just spun the clutch on hand tight.
The leak slowed way down so i am going to check for any trash, burrs etc and tighten the clutch.
These Huskys are different critters.
Thanks

Thanks for the part #
When i removed the clutch bushing i found no O ring but being so thin it may have crumbled or rotted away.
When i pressure checked the saw before i pulled the clutch the only leak i heard was behind it.

Now to find the O rings.

I put sealant in the bushing but did not put on/ tighten the clutch.
I waited to put on the clutch and flywheel so i could check the seals because i never saw this saw fully assembled.
These Huskys are new to me, Stihls and a few wild things are what i usually see.

I was working on a lowly ms170 today, he said it ran fine but when he shut it off it wouldn’t restart..I had a parts 170 someone gave me, it was all scavenged for exterior parts( missing recoil, muffler and top cover) piston looked like new, so I wasn’t sure what was wrong with it. So I took the friends saw and disassembled the carb to find this...8172977F-3EDB-4A1D-AA9A-24F83F6A321F.jpeg43ECA305-EA67-4D57-AE3B-D17061FC036D.jpeg
So with that saw down, I pulled the recoil to check for spark, it had spark! Then I pulled the carb and gave it a quick look over, it looked clean, surprise! So I put the muffler from the other saw on filled it with gas gave it a prime, she fired and ran perfect (for a 170) I was shocked, makes me wonder why they took the part from it? So pulled all the part back off and put them back on the original 170 plus put the carb from the parts saw, it fired right up and runs great! Was thinking about getting a full adjustable carb for it now!

Honestly have no idea where the chunk went. Has a weird sound at idle, but it ain’t mine cause it already would’ve been rebuilt lol. And yessir posted it last year lol.
