Hehe... I’ve started a moped in reverse and drove it around. But never a saw...
Trying to think how that would happen... recoil only pulls one way, so it had to kick back and fire...
Flywheel slipped?

Lol close, it was advanced a small amount. I retarded the timing back to stock and still same issue. So then I scratched my head and thought hmmm what else did I change from before? It didn’t do it before.....

Well the cool thing about a 2 stroke is it will run either way, as well as the other, if ignition timing is adjusted. I’m not sure how else to get it to run backwards...
Another clue?

It was the coil. It was bad internally. Fooled me real good I even thought it had a bad air leak because it wouldn’t tune. I swapped it to another coil and saw wouldn’t fire LOL. I was pissed. I threw on the old limited coil and she runs like a swiss watch now.

So the coil is severely retarded? And the saw popped on the rebound?

I’ve never had this happen to me before. Has it happened to anyone else? Doesn’t seem like a common issue.

Decided to pull the clutch on my 024AV, to clean under it.
Glad I did. The bolts that hold the plate on that covers the oil pump were barely finger tight.

New rule. Any used saw I buy gets torn most of the way down to check for damage, and loose bolts.

I threw it in the garbage pretty hard as I was venting my frustration lol, but I’ll pull it out for you.
