Rust-Oleum hammered is cheap and durable. That finish is probably three years old and always sits out in the weather.

Trailers nothing special but it handles the tractor and round bales just fine.

372xp case

from a severely failed bottom end. Sitting for a long time with lots of baked residue accumulated around the bearing seats and in the case bore between the bottom of the bearing seat and seal. Main bores seem fine, though I'll still do a little surface cleaning with some 20 micron lapping paper.

Otherwise, I'm looking for suggestions on how to clean up the baked on crud without gouging or scraping the adjacent surfaces..., which pretty much takes a Dremel out of the picture. Was thinking about using a socket of the appropriate size and gluing some 320 grit paper to it/trimming it down to size and gently working the area? The halves are in the USC right now and I'm hoping the crap may loosen up a bit after some agitation. The gasket remains are really baked onto the case halves, too. Hope they loosen up at the same time.

TIA for any recommendations.

Stand the trailer up on one edge diagonally so 9 foot is going to corner to corner in the tube and you’ll fit in there just fine.

That tractor deserves a badass powder coated trailer
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
someone thinking like me.. powdercoating is tough as. will outlast paint.

oh btw the 462 is on the bench, timing done and muffler mod under way.

then back to a troublesome 359 husky.

No. It's residue from the baked bearings after the bottom end needle cage let loose. More carbon-like than anything else..., remnants from the retainers. Just looks like white death after being in the parts washer overnight.

Maybe I should just use some Rust-Oleum primer.

Easy to do the muf mod on the 462. And it doesn't run a screen [emoji15]

.
The keyway is molded as one with the flywheel, which is a bit of a pain in the butt but it done too. Zippy as now. Can't wait to drop it in wood [emoji16]
