Funny I got the same saw with out a clutch cover lol. I hacked on a 2150 and made it fit. It work good enough for who its for.
Tried to make a poulan side cover fit bit the dang clutch wouldn't fit the side cover. The way the saw is set up now it doesn't oil that great, wouldn't know why lol.

Unfortunately, I know the feeling, got it when I saw my 044 get pinched and sucked into a tree I was felling.

Then, several Stihl shops told me is was not worth fixing, it is part of the reason I'm on these sites.

But back then, there were no AM handles, I think I paid over $150 for a new tank handle! But, it still runs to this day!

numbers somewhere around 102, 120ish, and 78 .... squish is 19-20 range. ported by me, case is decked, squish band sanded. base gasket delete.

all of these builds are mish mosh builds. the case halves don't even come from the same saw. so, new bearings, seals, carb, fuel line and filter. I found a pile of NOS parts, so ... new gas tank, new oem muffler, no mods to that yet, oem full wrap, new intake block. new am clutch cover assembly, new oem starter cover. D handle. new oem chain tensioner with my e clip mod. will have high top filter/ and top..new ......... might try to run it this am. we'll see :)

btw, in case anyone is wondering how slow I am... this is about 20 hours worth of work.

Matt,
You can’t rush PERFECTION!!!!!!

When you deck the cases instead of the cylinder is that more to clear up miss matched cases or just easier for you??

I don't have wood to do proper comparisons, so I don't usually do running vids...

for some reason its easier for me to deck cases. I dunno why. but sometimes there are mismatches, so obviously that clears that up too.

another benefit is that the "ears" on the cylinders stay full thickness. its stronger overall.

the downside is that the case is then kinda married to the cylinder. ..but only kinda. you can always make adjustments :)

Fixed up a 2008 polaris ranger today.....had to replace a broken a-arm and cv boot. Engine is low on compression and has a hard time idling so I see it being back in the near future. Customer needs it right now for the harvest.
Here at home is two homelite saws soaking in penetrating oil.
