Last project to start with this weekend, gone order parts from my dealer on Monday...
My first Trio brake saw, for fun I gone study if they had a special crankcase&clutch cover.

The reason why my dealer only took 60$ for her :D wasn't much to consider if or not :D

Those are weird versions......

Never seen one of those before.
they never sold many of them in Norway but they are more populare in Sweeden.
The 550 Trio Brake cost ruffly 60$ extra compared to non Trio Brake version, dunno how much extra they did cost for the 346.
For fun I did check part prices, they are totally insane, just as parts are for xpg system

Well, I really hardly ever go out, so it's no wonder it's new to me. Can someone explain how that contraption actually works?

Thank you for the link, Tor!

Looks very interesting. I think I will order that option the next time I buy a new Husqvarna!
(In other words... never)
I had to read since I've never had a Trio Brake saw before.
Them Sweedes has used Trio Brake long time before 346, I've seen them on 242.
I got my own way to cut and its not after the book, I really doubt I'll be a fan of Trio Brake lol

Wow Stihl as well! Look at all the kool stuff I'm learnin today! It's kinda funny - when I was a young adult and me and my buddies would have wood cutting weekends, one of our friends thought it would be cool if someone invented a diesel chainsaw and we all laughed at him. I wish he was still with us so I could send him a few pics of real diesel chainsaws. I guess he had the last laugh!

I've seen one Stihl and no Huskys with the brake option like that. It was a 036........and I did away with the odd parts.
Did you disable the Quick stop system or just disable the complete braking system?

Not sure about them Stihls, but the Husky principe is very simple.

This is the clutch cover:

Unlike the normal cover it has an extra pin who can be bought, #503 75 18 02

I have a handful of saws here that I owed people. Here is a 395XP I received completely disassembled and in a box. I don't normally take jobs like this, but this was a bartering deal.

These pics are all after I cleaned everything up.

New clutch springs and bar guide.

The plastic is quite faded, but I cleaned it up and sprayed it down with tire shine. It got new decals as well.

Don't tell anyone, but I forgot to put bar lube in it before running it, lol.

Was that a rebuild only or did you work her over?
