Are you just opening intake and exhaust or a full port job with finger ports
Delete the gasket and take around .010 off base and that will get about .018 squish and good for about 20 more psi. Widen the intake and exhaust to about 65% and raise the transfers and exhaust back up to make up for the drop. Filed about .020 off key and advanced timing and pulled the goofy spark arresstor screen and drilled the arresstor nut out

Nice I didn't know if it would be the same as a saw since they are operated differently

I've never build an clamshell engine before, not sure it will happen. Most likely the walbros and black coils will go for my 346's, but that 03 was a better looking saw tonight lol

More clamshells....those 40/45 clutches is ment for my 242's..... 45 year 96 and 40 year 89.

On the other side, maybe there was a reason why another dealer gave me a few freebie parts a while ago...

This one was also in the batch, 353G year 09, carbon scored. Lacked brake flag, clutch&drum and muffler.

Next to my bench at the shop, Oregon
Working on a 1990 craftsman tiller......the gas in there looked about 10 years old. lol Funny thing is it actually did run for a second on that ol corn oil!
Brought home a cutomer's ms290....supposedly has intermittent spark.....I found it majorly flooded out....runs just fine for me. Asked how he went about testing for spark and he says he was holding onto the plug with his HAND and said he didn't see any spark. Needless to say.....if I owned the shop I woulda told him to ground the plug to something and use his tongue. lol

Started building a mint 288 today, I cleaned this case up, it was a pig, spent 2 hrs on it, sending it to Glock37 to powdercoat, ordered the majority of the parts for the build, they had these 2 on the shelf, hope to keep it updated on here with pics
