I have 2 044 cranks in a box both are broken right there.
Did the 266 come with different sized clutch threads on the crankshaft over the years or are they all the same?
Can you weld it up with a wire feed welder to build up the area and re-tap some threads ?
they are cool saws, more fat compared to 242, but they are strong saws!New to me. Haven't done much orange to date. 44 is healthy aside from some AV issues. 444SE is unknown. Missing a couple things.

OEM piston and a little cleanup on the jug and this minty straight gassed red lever 026 is off the bench. Even had to remove the factory plastic protective shield on the metal top cover tag.

yep thats what i thought , came from a guy on another group who is in Kalispell-Montana so you guys will no before we do down underWow, some good info there. Looking forward to seeing them and the 462 that is already in the Stihl Calendar. I hear it will be 73 cc and under 14 lbs. w/6Hp. Sounds impressive to me.
Does it need work, or just a clean up?
How about a video? Got one coming and can't wait!View attachment 60133
Ms261C-M (new version) after another tank of fuel yesterday, cutting some 18" fir.
The M-tronic on this saw is flawless!
