Actually under all the dirt oil and grime it's not in bad shape. The muffler deflector rotted away and the exhaust was blowing straight towards the brake handle. It actually melted the handle in half.
I haven't looked real close but I feel that a fuel system overhaul and a good bath is really all it's gonna need. Wish me luck.

I did a little pressure test on my 041 that I've been making a career out of and found the main problem, a missing clutch side seal, the rubber was completely gone. Wondering why it wouldn't pressure up...parts ordered..

So I bought my saw partner a Fleetwood Bulldog that had sat for years, like 30. It had been sitting indoor in climate control, but still seized up. These AH-47 engines have cast iron cylinders. So after a month long soak in the parts washer tank, we took it out and lit it on fire. After the flames died down we pulled the cylinder and it doesn't look bad at all!



A little hony marony and some rings we she will be doing the 2-smoke boogy!

just have a little more polishing to do on exhaust port.

That's the Numero Uno biggest PITA of a Stihl I've ever come across. Getting the clamshell jug apart requires splitting the half mag and half plastic case apart first IIRC. There's a 280 that shares parts with it and allows a bigger jug. Bearings proprietary and not cheap.

It's a good running saw with good AV though.

Started to assemble my hybrid lastnight and the Rings that came with the meteor piston are 54mm instead of 52mm. They aren't even caber rings...[emoji17] I'll be placing an order with Dave shortly to get some coming.
