...been run like ten hells ain't it??
Yuck. Probably cheaper to just buy a used one and keep that for parts. That looks like it's in tough shape.
Actually under all the dirt oil and grime it's not in bad shape. The muffler deflector rotted away and the exhaust was blowing straight towards the brake handle. It actually melted the handle in half.
I haven't looked real close but I feel that a fuel system overhaul and a good bath is really all it's gonna need. Wish me luck.

So I bought my saw partner a Fleetwood Bulldog that had sat for years, like 30. It had been sitting indoor in climate control, but still seized up. These AH-47 engines have cast iron cylinders. So after a month long soak in the parts washer tank, we took it out and lit it on fire. After the flames died down we pulled the cylinder and it doesn't look bad at all!

just have a little more polishing to do on exhaust port.
Dayum buddy, you go really good at grinding!

Don't know how I feel about this one yet. MS270. It needs a little love. LolView attachment 56924View attachment 56925
Hate to be you Mike. Figure out how to get the top handle off yet?

That's the Numero Uno biggest PITA of a Stihl I've ever come across. Getting the clamshell jug apart requires splitting the half mag and half plastic case apart first IIRC. There's a 280 that shares parts with it and allows a bigger jug. Bearings proprietary and not cheap.

It's a good running saw with good AV though.
